Ukraine: Strenghtening the Resilience of Essential Services through a Decarbonised & Sustainable Energy Supply (PHENIX)

  • Status

    Ongoing

  • Location Nyzhnye Selyshche Village (Khust Municipality)

Education is heavily impacted by Russian strikes (3 583 schools partially destroyed & 394 completely in 2024) as well as agriculture (Difficult access to fuel/electricity to power equipment, to seeds & fertilizers). As part of Ukraine reconstruction & development anticipated, a pilot village has been identified: Nyzhnye Selyshche, recognized for its cheese produced by the cooperative which gathers ~200 small farmers delivering their milk.

The project aims to equip buildings with decentralized low-carbon solar solutions (Agrivoltaic systems to be determined, depending on needs & technical specifications) in 1 school, 1 canning factory used to process local products & the cheese factory (Employing displaced people from eastern regions). Forums to be organized also to raise awareness on renewable energies & environment.
