Ukraine: Improving the access to a safe and quality water for war-affected population in Velykyi Burluk

  • Status

    Ongoing

  • Location Kharkiv Oblast

War in Ukraine has caused widespread death, destruction & displacement. Water systems have collapsed (40% of Kharkiv Oblast population have access for 3h every 3 days, while the rest does not have access at all) and purification & filtration systems are poorly functioning.

The project aims to support Vodakanal (Local water provider) restore the system allowing the population a safe access to water and better health & hygiene conditions, through a needs-based approach & risk analysis:

1/ Technical assessment of damages

2/ Validation & consolidation of Bill of Quantities

3/ Procurement ensuring international standard process & local regulations 4/ Delivery of items & equipment to local Vodokanals

5/ Repair of water networks connected to pumping stations, and/or installation of new networks to reach underserved communities.
