The Safeguarding on Transport Program was born from the relationships between NGO & the railway industry and designed to help ensure vulnerable children no longer go unnoticed on the railways, becoming a catalyst for positive change in their lives, through:
- Training to identify & support vulnerable children and assist British Transport Police
- Develop Safeguarding Action Groups (SAGs) at locations where there are high levels of vulnerability to raise awareness of safeguarding within the station community & improve responses to vulnerable young people
- Directly support children & young people to address issues (School, bullying, drug use, parents, etc). This year new full-scale project centred in Glasgow to reach & support many more vulnerable youth.
