Romania: Beans of Hope - Developing Skills & Opportunities for Vulnerable Children, Youth & Women

In rural village of Dezmir & surroundings, people live without real access to development opportunities. The Dezmir Community Centre - A multifonctional space that includes a social café (Bope Coffee), modular educational space, children's play area, library, emergency apartment, counseling office & 2 terraces - was created in 2023 to bring dynamics.

The project aims now to focus on increasing skills & employability through: 

1/ Non-formal education for 400 children/youth (6-18y) with 48 workshops on life skills (Communication, teamwork, critical thinking) & entrepreneurship

2/ Vocational development for 100 women with 12 sessions on digital literacy, basic financial education & job orientation

3/ Practical experience at the Bope Coffee with 24 sessions on customer service, product arrangement, etc

4/ Inspirational REX meetings with young entrepreneurs who have developed small businesses (Handmade products, agriculture, local services)

5/ Community events to promote cooperation, social inclusion & equal access (Exhibitions, workshops, etc).
