Philippines: Breaking Barriers for 131 Disadvantaged Girls - Skills, Opportunities & Essential Support

In the Philippines, 40 M people live below the poverty line (13 M children). Many of them live in Cebu slums where their precarious situation leads to school dropout, child labor, prostitution & other forms of abuse, particularly affecting girls. 

The project aims to improve the employability of 131 disadvantaged girls through certified vocational training or classical studies & the acquisition of skills relevant to the labor market. Each girl to receive:

1/ Financial support with 350 EUR/y for tuition fees, technical equipment required for studies, transport, health insurance, food or extra-curricular activities

2/ Individual support through 50h of training & coaching (Career planning, CV writing, interview preparation, intership & job search). Special focus on English proficiency, computer literacy & essential soft skills that are critical for success

3/ Mentoring to ensure smooth transition between academic journey & employment.
