Mexico: Solar energy, water and biomass to improve lives

Objective: To help 20 families gain access to renewable energy, harvest rain water and build eco-stoves

  • Status

    Project completed

  • Location Oaxaca region

This project installed solar cells to provide 20 families with a minimum amount of energy per day and included the installation of rain water harvesting cisterns and training the beneficiaries in their maintenance.

Training families to construct and use wood saving pastari stoves helped reduce the amount of CO2 expelled. Furthermore, dry composting toilets were constructed so that organic material can be transformed into fertilizer to improve eroded land.
