Israel: Reigniting the future through life changing entrepreneurship

Equipping underprivileged youth with entrepreneurial skills

  • Status

    Project completed

  • Location East Jerusalem, Israel

Some East Jerusalem communities face numerous challenges that have negatively affected their youth – extremely high poverty, lack of education and unemployment, crumbling infrastructure and violence – to name a few. Alstom Foundation, with its partner NGO Unistream, seeks to address and eradicate the extremely harsh socioeconomic reality described above by forging a cadre of socially conscious business leaders and entrepreneurs.

The project will involve the implementation of an intensive life changing program that will target 400 underprivileged boys and girls. The pupils will be encouraged to pursue academic achievements, engage in social activism, choose a profession and successfully kickstart their careers. The methodology will involve a variety of training modules, creation and management of start-ups and exposure to top management of companies who are taking part in a mentoring role.
