Israel: Enhancing Arab Women's Sense of Security on Public Transportation

Arab towns/villages often have few direct bus/train services, forcing women to endure long waits for connections in isolated or hostile environments. The project aims to improve the mobility of Arab women/girls using public transportation to access markets, education & other facilities. Key activities:

1/ Establish hotline for immediate assistance in case of harassment or threats

2/ Raise awareness & advocate

2.1/ Create campaign in Hebrew & Arabic on social networks

2.2/ Distribute information leaflets at stations

2.3/ Work with stakeholders (Local authorities, transportation operators, Ministry of Transportation, etc)

3/ Research & monitoring

3.1/ Track & analyze data on harassment & violence among public transportation users over time

3.2/ Conduct periodic surveys among women users about their sense of security

3.3/ Collect data to monitor safety trends & future interventions
