Germany: Economic and Social Participation For Women Through Soft Skills and Language Training

  • Status

Women with a migration/refugee background face major barriers to social & economic participation, often dealing with stereotypes, hostility & violence. Only 3.4% of integration courses are specifically designed for women in Germany despite their need for safe learning spaces. The NGO proposes a program that combines language acquisition, soft skills development & pathways to employment. Key activities:

1/ Tailored language training meetings (45x2h) at the Language Café for 10-20 participants per session, focusing on communication for daily life, vocational integration & cultural understanding. Childcare services are provided for mothers to attend without additional stress

2/ Soft skills workshops (6) for 10-12 participants per session covering confidence-building, financial literacy, networking skills & how to start organizations or initiatives

3/ Community events (2) to connect women with diverse networks & showcase their talents.
