France: Succeeding in middle school in the Île de France & Grand Est regions

  • Status

    Ongoing

  • Location France

The project aims to implement actions preventing school dropout in 450 classes in the Grand Est & 750 classes in Île-de-France regions. Program consists of interventions in classes involving local players (Academic regions, companies, volunteers) and is based on 3 principles:

  • Short "wise interventions": 3x55 minutes per year from 6th to 9th grades presented by 2 trained volunteers
  • Peer intelligence: Students remain the actors of the interventions by giving answers to their classmates & brainstorming on key concepts
  • Growth mindset: Students learn to recognize their abilities & gain confidence in themselves.

In addition, the "Cap Orientation" module helps 8th & 9th grades project themselves in professional future & find ways to reach their objectives. It involves 2 interventions around videos presenting specific professions, testimonies from professionals, real-life simulation games & quizzes.
