Algeria: Greening the economy through realising and unlocking youth’s potential

GEAR UP! intends to improve the socio-economic inclusion and livelihoods of vulnerable youth (>50% women) through a market-driven, blended learning approach. It provides trainings in digital, soft and technical skills linked to green economy.

The project focuses on:

  • 120 vulnerable youth with online training in digital and soft skills to improve their employability through the Emplea+ platform developed by EFE-Europe and Accenture.
  • 75 vulnerable youth to follow in-classroom trainings in high-demand soft and technical skills in waste management.
  • 55 youth of the above with career-launching jobs at employer partners, including green economy.
  • 195 youth volunteering to raise public awareness about the need to adopt environmentally-friendly practices.
